A slice of New York on Pozsonyi: Babka Deli

The younger sibling of the famous Babka. New York deli spirit, all-day brunch, coffee brewed in a pot and a Reuben on marble.

Wander onto Pozsonyi út and you can quickly succumb to mild panic: cafés, restaurants, bakeries, deli windows, breakfasts, brunches — where do you even start?

Today we’re talking about Babka Deli — the younger sibling of the well-known Babka, already very much its own thing.

The classic New York deli vibe fits surprisingly well into the clean, unified architecture of one of Újlipótváros’s main streets. The result is a place where you can linger over breakfast, dash in for a sandwich, or pick up something delicious to take home.

Babka Deli is open from morning to evening with breakfasts and brunches, specialty coffee, desserts, inventive soft drinks, and dishes that work just as well for lunch or dinner. For the business-lunch crowd there are three combo options, and you can order at the counter or online.

But deli format isn’t just about eating in. So alongside, say, a Reuben, a filter coffee and a flódni for dessert, you can also take home fresh pastries, charcuterie, spices, preserves, sauces, spreads, mezze and plenty of other gastronomic delights.
